What does trusted browser mean?

If you trust a browser, this means that your device recognises the webpage. If you trust the Macquarie Online Banking browser, multi-factor authentication will not be prompted when you next log in if you have Enhanced level security.

If you have the Ultimate level security, you will need to complete multi-factor authentication each time you login to Macquarie Online Banking, regardless of whether you have trusted a browser or not.

What browsers should I avoid trusting?

You should never “trust the browser” when using a public or shared computer. We recommend you only trust browsers that you use regularly.

How can I find the option to enable trusted browsers?

When you log in to Macquarie Online Banking via a new browser or on a new device you will be prompted to select if you trust the browser.

If this is not automatically prompted when you log in, your security level may be on View Only mode.

Why can’t I trust my browser?

Unfortunately, we don’t have the ability to recognise every type of browser. You’ll need to complete multi-factor authentication to log in to certain browsers.

Change your decision to trust a browser

You can manage your trusted browsers on Macquarie Online Banking or Macquarie Mobile Banking app through the Trusted browsers section in Security.

Clicking on Manage on the Trusted browsers tile will let you revoke browsers you’ve already trusted and review details on when you trusted them.

If you’re still having trouble, give us a call on 133 174 (+61 2 8245 4470), 24/7.
