Your identity may be verified electronically using government sources (such as the identification document issuer or official records holder) and information held by credit reporting agencies such as Equifax.
We’ll use the details you’ve provided on your application to verify your identity electronically. We may request additional information, such as a driver's licence and/or your passport details to identify you. If we’re unable to verify your identity electronically, we’ll need to verify your ID manually by asking you to provide certified ID documents.
Under our Anti Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) regulatory requirements, we can’t open any account until we have verified your identity. We recommend you carefully check the information you provide us to ensure it’s as complete and accurate as possible. If we do identify any discrepancies, we may need to contact you or your adviser to resolve the discrepancy which may delay the account opening process.
If you don’t want us to verify your identity electronically, you’ll need to provide certified ID documents so we can verify your identity manually. Please note this could increase your application processing time.
Your information will be disclosed to our selected credit reporting agency and/or our electronic verification service providers, who will attempt to match your information against public and government sources and/or against personal information held by the credit reporting agency and/or our electronic verification service providers. This may involve matching your information against information held by the credit reporting agency on your credit file (Credit Header Information).
The credit reporting agency or any electronic verification service provider we use is obligated to use your information for identity verification only and must keep your information confidential. This identity verification process may involve the use of vetted external organisations which may have their own privacy policies in place.
You can contact the relevant credit reporting agency for further information on how your personal information is used. You can also access your details held by our credit reporting agency below:

In most cases, you’ll complete your identity verification digitally, which will be sent to you from our home loan team or your broker. This digital experience will require you to take a photo of your physical ID documents (i.e. an Australian driver licence or passport) and complete face verification by taking a selfie video to ensure your face matches your ID documents.
Where you’ve changed your name and there are discrepancies between ID documents, the name listed on the application and/or property’s land title, you may be required to provide additional certified ID documentation.
Our Privacy Policy sets out why we need to collect personal information, how we collect it, what we do with it, how it is stored and who we might share it with. The Policy also describes how you can access or correct information we hold about you, how you can ask further questions or make a complaint, and information about our websites and online activities.
