Set a strong passcode: Your passcode will help protect your phone as a first line of defence, make sure your phone passcode is not easy to guess to ensure maximum security. Never share your passcode with anyone.
If you believe your passcode has been compromised, change it as soon as possible.
Enable automatic lock: Ensure your phone locks automatically after a short period of inactivity. This will help protect your phone if it is stolen.
Follow the steps on how to set up Macquarie Authenticator.
Monitor authentication requests: If you receive authorisation requests for transactions you did not initiate, decline them and notify Macquarie immediately.
Regular updates: Ensure your phone’s operating system and apps are up to date to help protect against security vulnerabilities.
Regular backups: Regularly back up important data such as contacts and photos to a secure cloud service or external storage.
Verify requests: Be cautious of unexpected or suspicious requests for personal information, especially if they come through text messages, emails or over the phone.
