Pay your credit card

There are various ways you can repay your Macquarie Credit Card.  Each payment type has a different payment clearance timeframe as outlined below.

Transfers from Macquarie account or from another bank

You can transfer money from one of your Macquarie accounts or from an account from another bank to pay your credit card.

If you elect to make a repayment to your Macquarie credit card from your Macquarie Transaction Account, Macquarie Savings Account or Macquarie Offset Account, your credit card available balance will update immediately. Your owing balance will be updated on the next business day.

For repayments made from any other Macquarie bank accounts such as the Macquarie Cash Management Account:

  • if you make the repayment before 5pm on a business day, your available and owing balance will be updated on the next business day; or
  • if you make the repayment after 5pm on a business day, or on a non-business day, your available and owing balance will be updated in up to two business days’ time.

If you’re transferring from another bank you’ll need to check with them how long it will take to clear.

BPAY

You can pay your credit card bill using BPAY®:

  • BPAY biller code: 423251
  • Reference number: your credit card number

If you elect to repay your credit card via BPAY from one of your Macquarie bank accounts:

  • if you make the repayment before 5pm on a business day, your available and owing balance will be updated on the next business day; or
  • If you make the repayment after 5pm on a business day, or on a non-business day, your available and owing balance will be updated in up to two business days’ time.

Note: You cannot use BPAY to pay your credit card from another credit card.

Direct Debit

To set up a monthly repayment schedule by direct debit to your Macquarie credit card account, you’ll need to download, complete, and return a Direct Debit Request form.

You can choose from three repayment options:

  • Minimum due payment – if you make only the minimum payment each month, you’ll pay more interest, and it will take you longer to pay off your balance
  • Full amount of the closing balance
  • A set monthly payment amount.

Once your direct debit has been set up, a message will appear on your next statement. Until you see this message, continue to make your payment by any of the methods listed on your statement.

To change your repayment schedule, you’ll need to complete the same steps above by downloading, completing and returning a Direct Debit Request form.

Once it’s set up your available and owing balance will be updated within two business days (e.g. if the scheduled date is Monday, your available and owing balance will be updated by Wednesday).

Please note, from 29 April 2022,  you’ll no longer be able to make cash payments to your credit card at Australia Post.

Australia Post payments

The most convenient way to make a payment is via BPAY or direct debit to your credit card through your online banking platform. However, you can make payments to your credit card in person at Australia Post using Eftpos.

Keep in mind, we no longer accept cash payments at Australia Post and from 20 May 2024 we’re phasing out cheque services.
