How do I check my account balance?

You can view your account balances on the home page once you’ve logged in to the Macquarie Online Banking and Macquarie Mobile Banking app.

In the Macquarie Mobile Banking app, you can also view your account balances via a ‘quick view’ feature that shows you a snapshot of your account balances without having to log into the app.

To set up quick view:

  1. Select the three dots at the top of your account list
  2. Select Manage quick view accounts
  3. Select the accounts you wish to see
  4. Select Done.

You can modify or turn off quick view by repeating this process.

What’s the difference between ‘balance’ and ‘available’?

Available balances are impacted by pending transactions, which are payments or transfers that have been authorised but not yet processed. Pending transactions impact balances as follows:

  • ‘Balance’ is the amount of money in your account before all pending transactions have been processed.
  • ‘Available’ is the amount that will be available after any pending transactions have been processed and is a more accurate reflection of how much you can spend at that time.

For your home loan:

  • ‘Balance’ is the loan amount outstanding.
  • ‘Available’ is the amount of funds available for redraw (if the account allows).

How do pending transfers affect my account balance?

Pending transactions adjust the balance and available amounts displayed in accounts.

Some payments may appear as pending until the payment has been fully processed. This includes transactions such as:

  • Point of sale (POS) purchases
  • Online card purchases
  • ATM withdrawals
  • Cash deposits.

Pending transactions may also be the result of a merchant applying a pre-authorisation (e.g. deposits for car hire or hotel accommodation where the authorisation may be cancelled on return of the vehicle or at the end of your stay).
