Receiving payments

The following Business Banking accounts can now receive real-time payments via the New Payments Platform (NPP) and Osko®:

  • Business Banking At-Call Investment Account
  • Business Banking Account
  • Business Banking Term Deposits
  • Overdraft Account (not applicable to any other loan accounts)
  • Business Banking Trust Account

NPP payments received on non-banking days (weekends and public holidays) are immediately visible in your MBO transaction list, but interest calculations and statement records will reflect on the next business day.

New Payments Platform (NPP)

The NPP facilitates real-time settlement of payments between participating Australian financial institutions. Find out more about the New Payments Platform. You can also check which financial institutions are set up with NPP.

NPP features:

  • streamlined cash flow –instant transaction visibility with real-time NPP and Osko payments
  • simplified reconciliation – detailed payment descriptions up to 280 characters for easier account management.

Osko

Osko is an overlay service built on the New Payments Platform. Eligible Macquarie Business Banking accounts can receive real-time payments via Osko.

If you receive a payment via Osko, you will see the Osko logo when you click on the transaction.

PayID

PayID is a payment service that enables you to use a unique identifier (such as your mobile number) and link it to one of your eligible accounts to send and receive real-time payments via the NPP.

Please note, PayID is currently unavailable for Business Banking customers. Macquarie Business Banking customers can only receive real-time payments via BSB and account number.

Sending payments

Macquarie Business Banking customers are currently only able to receive real-time payments.

As we continue to invest in our platform, we’ll be adding more functionality, and will keep you updated as we launch new features.

Can I receive international payments in real-time?

No, at this stage only domestic payments are supported for real-time payments via the NPP.

Receiving real-time payments on non-business days

Real-time or Osko payments received on non-banking days may appear on your MBO transaction list immediately. However, for the purpose of calculating interest, the payments will only be credited to the closing balance of your account on the next business day. The payment will also be recorded on your statement as having been received on the next business day.
