Choose how you want to approve payments

We understand you may have several payments to approve and the Macquarie Authenticator app will let you approve them one after the other without a delay.

For the fastest approval experience possible, turn Macquarie Authenticator app notifications on in your device settings.

Turn on device notifications

The process to turn on notifications for Macquarie Authenticator depends on whether you have an Apple or Android device.

Apple

  1. Go to your device settings
  2. Tap Notifications
  3. Find Authenticator in your list of apps
  4. Check that Allow Notifications is toggled on.

Android

  1. Go to your device settings
  2. Tap Notifications
  3. Find Authenticator in your list of apps
  4. Check that Allow Notifications is toggled on.

Managing app notifications and alerts

When a payment is ready for approval, the Macquarie Authenticator app will send a push notification (on either smart phone or tablet device) to all authorisers on the account, asking you to approve the payment.

If you use an Apple device and you'd prefer to review and approve all payments and tasks altogether, you’ll still need to have your notifications on to get the benefit of faster approvals, but alerts can be muted (see below) so they don’t bother you throughout the day.

If you use an Android device, you don’t have to have notifications on to benefit from faster approvals, but we recommend you do keep them on to maintain the real-time control over your accounts and facilities. You can also set up your notifications to deliver quietly (see below) so they don’t bother you throughout the day.

Mute app alerts

The process to mute alerts from Macquarie Authenticator depends on whether you have an Apple or Android device.

Apple

  1. Once Allow Notifications is toggled on, you will see that all Banners, Sounds and Badges are on.

  1. Tap all Banners, Sounds and Badges to mute app notifications (while keeping Allow Notifications toggled on).

Note: You could also choose to schedule your notifications, so you only receive them at a time of your choosing throughout the day. The Apple Support site will be able to assist you with this.

Android

  1. Once Show notifications is toggled on, you’ll see that Allow sound and vibration is selected.

  1. Select Deliver quietly to mute app notifications (while keeping Show notifications toggled on). When your app notifications are set to Deliver quietly, they’ll appear in the notification centre, and you’ll see an app icon, but the notification won’t appear on the lock screen, show banners, play a sound, or vibrate.

Note: Muting your app alerts may vary depending on your Android device. If you need help, please refer to the provider of your device for more information.

Update the Macquarie Authenticator app
